My Friends in Rotary
The Rotary Clubs all over the world are celebrating hundred years of the
founding of the Rotary movement during the year 2004-05. The theme for this year
is Celebrate Rotary an occasion to celebrate the achievements of the movement in the last 100 years and to resolve
to carry forward the good work for the next 100 years.
We, in the Rotary Club of Cochin West, should utilize this occasion to remember
the yeoman service rendered by the eminent leaders in the past, and the great projects made possible as a result of their
dedicated service and hard work. This is also the occasion to rededicate ourselves
to the service of society with the motto service above self, for the ensuing years.
For the Centenary Year, our Club has taken up various projects which call
for the complete support and involvement of all the members. The Centenary Year
Project is the HIV/AIDS Awareness Project, to be implemented in association with the IMA Blood Bank. The District has given us a target of minimum US$5000 as annual giving to the Rotary Foundation. The District Seminar on Leadership Development is to be hosted by the Club this year also. All these projects
and programmes and the other activities planned by the Directors of the various Avenues of Service, require the active participation
of members for its successful fruition.
I feel privileged and honoured in being entrusted the responsibility of leading
our prestigious Club as President during this most important Centenary Year. I
will try to discharge the responsibility entrusted to me to the best of my ability.
I thank you all for this honour and request your blessings and support for the success of the Centenary Year of the
Club.
Yours in Rotary,
(G.Krishna Kumar)
President
